The second wedding of the jubilee weekend, and a very large family and nine (yes 9!) bridesmaids made for a fun day. Who needs street parties and afternoon tea?
When I arrived to photograph the wedding preparations for Victoria and Andy’s wedding things were surprisingly calm, with makeup done and hair in progress. An impressive feat with 5 adult bridesmaids, 3 small bridesmaids (1 to join later) and the Bride and Mother of the Bride all trying to get ready in a confined space! Bucks fizz and bacon butties were even on the go courtesy of Dad Gary.
The flowers by family friend Edwina (Flowers by Edwina) were stunning and the roses the most unusual colour. A tip for anyone with small bridesmaids, the rose balls are artificial, but they looked great and appeared to be indestructable! (There is some photographic evidence of them being spun and thrown around like shot-puts but they lived the day out.)

Grandad Bill made the candy cart and postbox for the wedding, even personalising them with the couples initials.
The cart was popular with adults and children alike, and was topped up throughout the day. A real blast of nostalgia for us grown ups with sherbert dib dabs, flying saucers and curly wurlys to name a few.
Victoria did not stop smiling all day and although the weather wasn’t exactly kind for June, it was cold, at least the threatened rain didn’t come. I had a great day, and I am pretty sure they did too.
