When I saw that The Holistic Cancer Care Centre at James Cook Hospital was running a charity lunch on a theme of “The Story of the White Wedding” it was obviously up my street. And then as is the way I forgot all about it, but I am glad the ladies there prompted me to go along…
The dress code was “dress to impress” and there were some beautiful outfits there. Dare I say I even wore a dress and silly sparkly shoes (not me at all).

The Story of a White Wedding display with beautiful vintage dresses and accessories.

Traditional sweets available to buy from Tracy’s Choc Away! candy cart.

Summer Brights were very popular in the ladies outfits.

A range of gifts and homeware were available to buy from Ruby Shoes Wedding and Cath Gilbert.

The tombola did a roaring trade and you can see below one very happy tombola winner!

If you have the opportunity to see The History Wardrobe in action I can recommend them. They were very funny, and I suspect I may have actually learnt something about historical wedding dresses, and perhaps even the institute of marriage! I don’t want to post too many photos of them on here in case I spoil the presentation for future viewers, but here are a couple.

What happens when your partner goes “Off Script”. Bless it took her a while to recover!

The lady voted “Best Dressed” cuts the cake.
If you attended the event as a guest or exhibitor, I will be more than happy to provide you with copies of the photos (without watermark) in exchange for a donation of £5 to The Holistic Cancer Care Centre.
More images will be available to view and “buy” on The Story of a White Wedding Gallery page.
