They say never work with children or animals, but I was assured that Ledean and Martyn’s pet Border Collie, Joey, would do anything for a ball. This turned out to be pretty much true, but still didn’t stop the odd doggy photo-bomb from happening during their pre-wedding shoot. Poor Martyn was really suffering with hayfever but we soldiered on to get some lovely couple (plus Joey) photos. Read more →
Believe it or not I like to take photographs in my “free” time too! Thanks to Making Photographs by Yarm Studio I signed up for a 2 day photography break in the Dales, taking in Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, areas of limestone pavement and the infamous Ribblehead Viaduct. Read more →
What a great day we had in the end for Natalie and Michael’s Spa Hotel Saltburn Wedding.
When I asked what Michael and Natalie particularly wanted for their wedding day, the answer was photographs on Saltburn Pier. When I asked if there was anything they were worried about they said “not getting photographs on Salburn Pier”. I was slightly concerned then when I was met by torrential rain at the venue on arrival, partnered with black cloud as far as the eye could see! Read more →
They’ve been and done it again! The Saltburn Knitters have created yet another spectacle on the railings at Saltburn Pier, marking 150 years of Lewis Carroll’s book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Local photographer Ian Forsyth even managed to capture the secret group doing the install at the weekend. I was not so lucky, but managed to squeeze in a visit between wedding meetings yesterday. If you have been following this blog for a while, you will know I have a real soft spot for The Alnwick Garden. I was lucky to find time to get up there last week whilst the Ornamental Cherry Trees were still in flower. This year I persuaded two other wedding photographers, Katie Byram and Natalie Pluck to join me too. Read more →
Heather and Stephen were married at Gisborough Hall Hotel at the end of March. The weather forecast was for gale force winds and sadly did not disappoint.

Well it was wild and windy for Heather and Stephen’s pre-wedding shoot around Kirkleatham village on Saturday, but that did not dampen their spirits one little bit, as you can see. We had a proper laugh as we battled the elements only to have 2 minutes sunshine as we packed away to finish! Not long now until their late March wedding. Read more →
As some of you may have realised, a lot of photographers take refuge behind the camera because they don’t like having their picture taken. It is a bit of an open secret anyway, so hopefully my colleagues won’t lynch me for saying so!
Given that I knew the website was being updated and my photos were getting a little out of date I knew I had to get some done. I really was not looking forward to it. Fortunately the lovely Katie from Katie Byram Photography was very happy to oblige on my last visit north, ably assisted by our friend Natalie (Natalie Pluck Photography). Read more →
I had a great time photographing Keith and Tracy’s Grinkle Park wedding on Saturday 1st November. I am not sure who they were kind to in a former life but the weather we got for November was phenomenal. Many thanks to all of their family and friends for making me feel so welcome on the day.
The ring bearers took their job very seriously and averted disaster by getting the limo to turn around when the adults left the rings behind!
Once again a big thank you to Keith, Tracy and family for letting me be a part of their day.
