I got word that the cherry trees at Alnwick Garden were finally breaking bud, so at the first opportunity I hot footed up there to have a look! I was not disappointed! What a glorious day – I know this because I caught the sun!
It was lovely to see the tulips (“mistress”) and the blossom coincide. I waited an age for the sun to come out, finally gave up and started to make my way on for a cuppa before a sudden break in the clouds sent me sprinting back to the top!
The Serpent Garden (above) gave me a chance to play around with water and reflections (who says water and cameras don’t mix). Be warned the water feature top right goes off like a rocket. I think I jumped 3 feet!
The hedging around the grand cascade has really come on since I first saw the garden when the grand cascade was newly completed.
And I am still itching to have a go on one of the little diggers.
I had a great day out on one of the rare sunny days this year. Why not enjoy the gardens over the coming half term break?
